You Were Born To Be Rich

When I was growing up I don’t recall anyone ever mentioning to me that I was born to be rich. In fact, quite the opposite.

I was told that you had to get a good job that gave you security, work damn hard for a living and then if you’re lucky retire after 30 years with a slap on the back and good luck with whatever future you have left.

Now, this picture never sat with me – not even remotely. It sounded more like a prison sentence and even at the ripe old age of 17 made me feel like vomiting when I thought about it.

So what did this all mean? At that time I felt quite despondent because the model of my future that I was being shown sucked. It just didn’t feel right, yet I had no idea what to do about it.

I didn’t realize it then but this was the first sign that I wanted to be, do and have more meaning in my life than just living the socially accepted dream of getting a job that you most-likely hate just to pay the bills, get into debt and then retiring just-over-broke on a pension before having a heart attack or some such at the ripe old age of 75.

Sounds bleak doesn’t it yet the sad fact is that all too many people will have an experience very similar to. My aim is to help you lift your head out of the sand and try to see a bigger, better and brighter future for yourself that looks like the amazing adventure that you once dreamed of before anyone had the chance to steal your dreams.

What Does It Mean To Be Rich?

In all honesty it’s going to mean different things to different people but let’s look at what I’ve discovered that being rich means to me. It includes:

  • Having a prosperity consciousness
  • Being financially independent
  • Being at peace with your life
  • Having amazing relationships
  • Doing what you love and getting paid for it
  • Having awesome health
  • Being spiritually connected

Being rich is so much more than just having money in the bank. I know many financially wealthy people who are workaholics and are poor when it comes to health and fitness, having fun, giving and receiving love, being able to relax deeply or just enjoying a balanced and fulfilling life.

Don’t get me wrong I am not suggesting that being financially wealthy is not okay, just the opposite in fact. What I am saying is that what’s the point of being rich in one part of your life when the rest of it is in ruins? Why not have it all!

Not only can we have it all, it is your birthright to live a rich, full and abundant life. We know this because if one person can have it all then it makes sense that anyone can. All we need to do is understand why some people are doing it, while the rest don’t.

It’s actually not that difficult to understand. After years of reading books, going to seminars, studying what truly rich people are doing and then applying what they do to my life and getting the same result here’s what I have discovered.

The #1 thing required is to have is prosperity consciousness or prosperous thinking as it is also known.

This means that prosperity or wealth in your life starts with your mind and how you think. If you’re always thinking that you have a lack of time, money, energy, happiness, peace or anything at all that’s important to you then that becomes your self-fulfilling prophecy. This is what I call a ‘lack’ consciousness because your focus is on never having enough of what you need or desire.

On the flip side, someone that focuses on prosperous thinking will develop a powerful mind-set around having an abundance of time, money, energy, love, happiness, peace of mind or whatever it is that you need more of.

It’s really simple… what you focus on most of the time is what you create in your life.

This is called the law of attraction. For example, there is only ever going to be 24 hours in a day. For some, this is more than enough to get things done in a timely fashion and still have time to celebrate their life. For others, it’s like living in a pressure cooker that never ends.

The difference is purely in how you think about time and the decisions and actions that these thoughts give rise to. If your thoughts come from lack then your decisions will be based on lack and your actions will come from lack. This means that everything you try and do will be a struggle because you are coming from a place of limited or negative thinking.

It’s actually quite fascinating when you watch people running around like a psycho chicken constantly ranting about not having enough time. You almost get the feeling that they are about to explode from the internal pressure they are putting on themselves. It’s so easy to look at others from the outside and wonder what they must be thinking to put themselves through such hell but the real trick is to be able to look at yourself and then stop for a moment and re-evaluate what’s really important to you.

Lets face it, neither you or I really know how much time we have left on this planet. Buy what we do know is that it is limited. So my question to you is how are you going to spend that time from now on. In a state of constant stress and anxiety about things you can’t control or  in a state of relaxation, abundance and optimism for the future?

If you choose to embrace a prosperity consciousness then you will find a way to be more productive while using less effort. This is called leveraging yourself. By delegating workload, asking for support or outsourcing things that aren’t the best use of your time you can easily tip the odds in your favor.

For example, I used to work a 10 to 12 hour day in my business 6 to 7 days a week. These days I only have to work 1 hour a day 5 days a week and enjoy an awesome lifestyle. I’ve managed to gain back 11 hours of my day just through hiring a full-time remote assistant to do those things that aren’t a good use of my time.

The point is that it doesn’t matter what you believe that you are lacking in your life before that is going to change for you you’ll need to overcome your limiting or negative thought patterns in those areas.

One thing I know for sure is that thoughts are real forces. never underestimate the power to transform your life in the blink of an eye just by taking charge of your mind and thoughts.

If that is an area of interest to you then watch out for my next post as this is where I’ll spill the beans on how you can become the master of your mind and thoughts in just minutes a day.
