Many people get confused about this as they are completely separate worlds and yet within both there is a common source that connects them to each other.

We must not neglect our human world while we are present in it as in this world we are meant to experience all that being human has to offer as this is why we are here.

We are also here to learn, heal and evolve and ultimately to remember where we have come from.

The challenge for some is that as they start to awaken they tend to want to bypass the human part and delude themselves that they are nothing but spirit.

Now, there is of course truth in this delusion but if we haven’t yet healed the wounds that we took on from birth then those shadows will still live on inside us and karmically we still have work to do.

Our ego can’t make enlightenment happen to us as much it would like to think it can. That is only going to happen when we are ready to surrender to love.

Yes, it helps to do our spiritual practices and tap into the source of our being daily as then we are reminded that we are not just human either.

But do your best to not let any spiritual ego convince you that you are more or less advanced than anyone else because the truth is none of us really know at all.

One of the ways that we can embrace our spiritual side with more presence is to apply to qualities of compassion, peace. forgiveness and gratitude in every moment of our lives.

As we do this we are not only elevating our frequency we are also healing our wounds

I don’t know about you but meditation is an important part of my daily spiritual
practice. I’ve been doing it almost every day for over 20 years and it still inspires me.

But even if you don’t yet have a meditation practice, or if you struggle to meditate, I have some tools that will help you to love meditating. Whether you sit down to meditate or do a moving meditation, just putting time aside to meditate is a powerful act.

It lets your ego know that there’s a new player in town and that player is one who longs for spiritual connection.

Consistent meditation practice will enhance your personal growth, deepen your connection to your intuition and creativity, and strengthen your spiritual connection.

The tool that I’d like to share with you today is your eyes. This is one of the simplest ways you can get started on regular meditation.

All it takes is to sit in front of a candle flame or even a flower and just gaze gently at it for 3 to 5 mins with your eyes open.

The methodology here is simple when your eyes are open is easier for you to slow down the mind because you’re giving it something to do just by focusing on an object.

Then, all you need to do is remind yourself to keep coming back to the object you are gazing at whenever you notice the mind wanders.

When you are finished with the gazing exercise, simply close your eyes and relax for a minute or two and notice how you feel. There is no right or wrong result here as what you create with your eye gazing experience will be perfect for you.

However, as a general rule, you will notice that your mind is quieter and you feel more energized.

As you get more comfortable with this exercise, I encourage you to sit in front of a mirror and gaze into your own eyes. Make sure that the lighting is not too bright (use candlelight if you can) so that your eyes don’t water too much.

Then, just follow the same process as before. One of the main differences though, is that you may start to notice that your face starts to change or even disappear or that you can see colors or light appearing around your head.

All this is perfectly normal and just means that your mind is quieting down, and you are making a deeper connection to your spirit. The more comfortable you get with this exercise the longer you will be able to do it and the deeper it will go.

I recommend up to 20 minutes at a time as a good time-frame for maximum benefit.

Well, I hope this has given you some food for thought on how you can do a very simple eye-gazing technique to deepen your spiritual connection.

Let me see if I can shed some light on what my vision of being spiritually mature looks like.

8 Ways To Tell If You’re Spiritually Mature

Perhaps being spiritually mature is more about being in touch with your heart than it is being stuck in your head. While that may sound a tad to easy to accomplish I often wonder why more don’t seem to cotton onto this idea.

Let’s check out some of the other ways that may indicate that you are spiritually mature:

1. It’s when we start to expand our awareness of who we are beyond the mind and body while simultaneously experiencing deeply felt compassion for all life.

2. We drop the romantic notion of love and instead become love in which it has no bearing on if there is another there or not as the source of our love comes through us, not from us.

3. We see through the deception of our emotions and instead welcome them, especially the negative ones, as old friends.

4. We’re no longer bothered by trying to better ourselves instead we become our best self by accepting who we are in totality without preference.

5. We have no grudges or ‘stuff’ to fix around our parents, loved ones or people who may have hurt us. Instead, our heart is open to feel to the infinite depths of both pain and love as we know that the way out is in.

6. We take more personal responsibility for our lives and spend more time listening instead of making assumptions. We also don’t take responsibility for the lives of others as we know that this is between them and their higher self.

7. We don’t pretend to be something we are not and we stay true to our longing to follow the path of our deepest truth regardless of what the path may look or feel like.

8. Most of all, we need less stuff to be happy and we start to see the universe through the eyes of humility knowing that nothing ever was nor will be in our control. And, this is when we feel the urge to surrender so we can relax and simply be.

If this resonates with you please share your thoughts as I’d love to hear what is sitting with you around spiritual maturity and how it pertains to your path. These are amazing times for those that are willing to look beyond the world and see life for what it truly is.
