Most people work hard, day and night, to earn money. We live our lives doing something we don’t want to do in order to survive. But do you plan on living that kind of life until the end of the day? Probably not.

As I said in this interview with Rags to Riches Consulting, “When you deconstruct those beliefs. just let them all go, just drop all those ideas about money, and just enjoy your life.” I also added that the simplest way to approach money is just to be grateful for what comes, grateful for what goes, and be happy with what you already have. In this way, you are letting the universe know that you have an abundance mindset, instead of one of scarcity.

The thing with getting paid for what you love to do is to do that one thing that truly lights you up and then work hard to be the master of it. Once you master something, then people will be amazed by how you did it, and the next thing you know you are getting paid to do what you love.

Imagine being able to wake up in the morning and not think about the loads of work that’s waiting for you in the office, or the stress that working for someone else brings. Instead, you get to think about working from your home office and planning your day out the way you want to, and working with those customers and people that inspire you.

To me, money is just simply an expression of my creativity and how well received that is in the world. If my creativity is not flowing, then my cash flow will most likely stop flowing too. I’ve also found that when you are happy and in joy with your life then it helps with making money too. For me, it’s far easier to make money from joy than it is from misery.

To find out more about what I share on the subject of Getting Paid to be Yourself, go check out the Podcast below as you’ll be so glad you did.

as there really aren’t that many examples of it working yet.

It’s what the world needs yet still drastically undervalues as things like power, greed and status still dominate the more masculine orientated social hierarchy.

When I think of heart-centered leaders I think of people like Nelson Mandela, Mother Theresa, the Dalai Lama and anyone that puts love before logic.

How do we create a thriving business and life that flows effortlessly from our heart instead of our head?

We have to change the alchemy of how we show up in the world and that begins with listening to our intuition and making decisions based on love instead of reasoning.

For centuries it has been a masculine dominated society and the feminine has just followed.

We get to reverse this so that our heart (feminine) leads our head (masculine).

This is how we step forward into a brave new world where the leaders lead with love and the status quo of business in the world is forever transformed.

It starts with you and me and all those that are ready to do our inner alchemy so that our head is the servant and our heart the master.

This is how we bring light to the darkness of a world where so much pain and suffering is brought about by fear and lack of empathy.

There are some simple steps that anyone can follow to succeed in business and turn their passion into profit.

In this post you will learn seven proven steps to help you become the entrepreneur success you were born to be and live the life you have always dreamed of.

My Entrepreneurial Journey

I have co-founded two 7-figure per year companies in the past eight years. One focuses on providing digital marketing services to online and offline clients while the other develops products in a variety of Niche related markets.

My entrepreneur success began around the same time as I began working harder on myself, than on my business. There were so many ‘ah-ha’ moments for me as I dove head-first into a constant and never-ending self-improvement in the areas of health, finances, success, relationships and pretty much anything that could lead to a better quality of life.

Of course it wasn’t always peaches and cream when it came to results. I’ve probably made more mistakes along the way to success than most people will make in their entire life. I made a fortune, I lost a fortune and I even ended up dead broke and out of work for awhile – but I never quit on myself.

No matter how hard it got, how frightened I was, or how badly I messed up, it was the knowledge that I was gaining and applying that kept me going. It’s because I was learning new things every day that I never fell into the trap of feeling sorry for myself.

Consistent self-development keeps your brain agile which helps problems to get solved in new and different ways that would not have been possible if they were approached with the same level of thinking that they were created by.

Knowledge of itself is not enough though to bring you entrepreneurial success. You also need experience. It’s when you apply knowledge that it becomes powerful for you – even if that means you mess up at first. It’s far better to apply new ideas and make a mistake, than to not try at all and stay the same.

The key is to not give-up after your first attempt. That’s what quitters do. If you’re someone that gets scared the first time the going gets tough, then becoming an entrepreneur is definitely not for you. You’re better off finding a job you can tolerate so that you at least have some money to live by.

But if you want more than just a pay check out of life and working to make someone else rich who most likely couldn’t care less about you or your dreams, then watch the video below to learn the seven steps to grow a 7-figure a year business.

Today I’m going to share some successful online business tips that kept me going when at times it seemed like there was no light at the end of the tunnel.

If you’ve ever felt like quitting, then don’t despair as you’re not the only one that has felt this way but if you keep going you’ll be more than happy you did!

Successful Online Business Models

Whether you model your business model on what others are doing, or you have a unique product or service to share with the marketplace, the important thing is that you are passionate about it. It’s so easy to get caught up in the excitement of starting something new, only to realize a few months later that you might have bitten off more than you can chew.

Even when this happens, it’s not the end of the road. Successful entrepreneurs never run from a challenge. In fact, they are awesome problems solvers. There’s always going to be something you can do to get through any obstacle that you may come across.

I’m a great believer that we don’t need to reinvent the wheel if it’s not needed. That’s why I spend a great deal of time researching what my competitors are doing, especially the ones that are excelling in my Niche.

I even go as far as to buy their products and follow there sales funnels just to see how it all works from a customers perspective. This gives me great ideas to start with when it comes to building my business model. From there, I set up the initial framework of my business and get started testing and tweaking things until I get the results I’m looking for.

Let me be clear about one thing here. I’m not talking about copying exactly what others do. I’m talking about learning and adapting to suit your own business model. It’s really important to have your own voice in any business because after all we want to stand out from the crowd, not become one of them.

Successful Online Business Tips: Know Your Why Video

In this video I’m going to share with you my biggest reason why I became a home-based entrepreneur which will hopefully get you to thinking about your reasons why as well. The stronger and more compelling our reasons why we do the things we do are, the more likely they are to succeed.

Most people focus on what they have to do, rather than slowing down long enough to understand why we do the things we do. There are many reasons why people want to become the master of their own destiny and start their own online business and in the video below I’ll share with you what they all have in common.

Well, how did you do? Did the video help to clarify one of the main reasons why most people go into business for themselves? When you get to wake up each day and enjoy a lifestyle based on the four freedoms we talked about in the video, then you’ll truly be living your life with passion, power and purpose.

Did This Help You? If so, I would greatly appreciate it if you commented below and shared on Facebook

Let’s face it, how many of us wouldn’t like to know some successful relationship tips to keep the happiness, love and intimacy alive?

Most of us want our relationships to last, yet statistically the odds are against us as statistics reveal that nearly 50% of marriages end in divorce. And it’s not just marriages that break down. Why is it that such a high percentage of relationships fail and what can we do to help our relationships thrive and stay alive?

When To Leave A Relationship

Before we get into some of the ways to improve relationships, lets look at when it might be time to leave a relationship. Obviously, not every relationship is going to be a perfect match, so there are going to be times that it might be prudent to end the relationship sooner rather than later.

The first thing to do is to ask yourself this question, “Do I love my partner”, and be brutally honest about the answer. Love NEVER looks like abuse, disrespect, or physically or emotionally unavailable to them. If the answer is ‘no’, then it’s time to leave. If the answer is ‘yes’, but you are not happy together, then it’s still worth fighting for.

The other thing to mention here is that in many relationships the disconnection that gets experienced between two people can also be a timing issue. The timing I’m talking about here is a matter of emotionally maturity. Some people mature sooner than others and if one person is more secure in who they are than the other, then this can result in disharmony.

People who are more self-aware tend to be happier within themselves than those that ‘need’ another person in their life to feel good about themselves. When two such people get together, then this can also be a recipe for disaster as resentment can quickly mount when both people do not get their individual needs met.

As a general rule of thumb if you are not happy with your life being by yourself, then getting into a relationship to try and find your happiness is never going to work. The reason is because then you are putting the responsibility for your happiness in the hands of another human being… and when they don’t make you feel happy, you blame them for your misery.

This is a recipe for a toxic relationship that is doomed to fail. Then, when you get two people who are both looking for love and happiness in their life from outside of them, in the form of the ‘perfect’ mate, then there’s even less chance that they will have a deeply intimate and connected relationship.

Really, the time to leave a relationship is when you identify within yourself that you are no longer willing to accept your partner for who they are and to give love to them unconditionally without ever expecting to get anything in return. This may sound a little strange to some, but it’ll make more sense as you watch the video below.

There are some simple steps you can take to help smoothen the transition from wherever you are now in your work and life to becoming a successful entrepreneur. It’s not always easy to know what those steps are when you haven’t climbed them before which is why I decided to spill the beans here.

Is It Difficult to be an Entrepreneur?

I wasn’t always an entrepreneur. In fact, I’ve had around 17 different jobs over the lifetime of my so called ‘careers’, the longest of them was working as a marketing analyst for an International airline. While some of them were okay, for the most it really does

As far as if it’s difficult to become an entrepreneur, what I can say from my own experience is that the hardest part for me was breaking free from the ’employee’ mindset. If you’re not familiar with what that is, let me explain.

Society trains us to be good employees. Our entire education system shapes our minds around getting a job so we can become a useful part of society. But what about those that want to do more with their lives than build someone else’s dream and make them rich?

I believe there comes a time for most of us when we scan no longer kid ourselves that we are either happy or fulfilled by what we do for a living. I know when I got to this space, each day at work was unbearable. It took me two years of planning and preparation before I took the leap from employee to entrepreneur and in that time I’d never worked harder in my life.

The only thing that really holds any of us back from living the life of our dreams and taking our financial and business destiny into our own hands is fear. Fear of failure, fear of the unknown and most of all fear of change. But guess what, change is going to happen anyway. Job guarantee is a thing of the past and it’s only going to get worse.

More people than ever are now yearning for lifestyle first, business second, and for many, this means working from home, or even being location independent so they can travel and get paid for what they love to do.

In the video below I’m going to share with you the five steps you can take to help make the transition from employee (or unemployed) to entrepreneur.

If you are inspired to take more action then know that now is always the best time to get started and that there will always be good people who are more than willing to help you along the way.

There are three simple steps we can take to have a mindset for success that many people who struggle with success simply don’t have. It’s when we have a fixed mindset about how things should work, or what success should look like that we limit how successful we can be.

Growth Mindset vs Fixed Mindset

The first step to take to create a mindset of success is to have a growth mindset.

What tends to separate those that succeed at their goals and aspirations versus those that don’t are what they spend most of their time thinking about. A person with a fixed mindset is more likely get stuck on limiting thoughts and ideas like they either are or aren’t good at something because of who they believe they are.

Quite often, it’s just the thoughts we think that separate us from success or failure. This person also tends to get overwhelmed by problems that arise along their path to success to the point where they find it easier to give-up on their dreams and desires than to push through their own limitations.

In reality, these are just excuses to quit because deep down these people believe that they don’t deserve to be successful so why bother going through the pain of trying too much when they will probably fail anyway. This is the kind of self-talk that you will find in people with fixed mindsets.

On the other hand, people with a growth mindset are constantly challenging themselves mentally to have the right mindset that supports what they want to achieve in their lives.

So what exactly does a growth mindset look like? These people understand that intelligence can be developed, and with increased intelligence comes better decision making and action taking. They also believe that anyone can be good at anything if they are willing to put in the time and effort to make it happen.

The growth mindset focuses on constant and never ending improvement as a way of life, and rather than getting beaten down by obstacles they focus on turning them into opportunities to learn and grow.

The great news is that your mindset itself is not fixed. You can change your mindset anytime you like – all it takes is to decide which mindset you want to have and then live accordingly. As long as you take actions that support your decision, then you’ll find that instead of fearing failure you’ll develop mental muscles of courage.

Developing a Success Mindset

Let’s have a look then at what the other two steps are when we are looking to develop a mindset of success.

The next step is to be crystal clear about what you want. Not just some whimsical idea of something you want to be, do, or have, that’s more of a wish rather than a burning desire. It’s got to be something that you REALLY want, and that you have written down on your life’s goals list and put a date against when you want it by.

Then you need to be prepared to take consistent and non-stop action towards making it happen. Most of all, you’ll have a no-quit attitude towards it. That means that no matter what obstacles come your way you’ll focus on finding a solution regardless of how long or how difficult the road is.

The third and last step to having a mindset for success is to stay focused on the big picture of where you’re headed and not on the small picture of where you are at. The small picture are all those thoughts and experiences you have that cause you to doubt where you are headed, or make you feel like giving up.

Whenever you find that you are struggling to keep moving forward with any goal or dream, then you’ve most likely forgotten to focus on where you are going, and more importantly, why you want to get there.

You’ll find that it’s your reasons why you want to do things like; start your own business, lose weight, get healthy, find true love, travel the world, or whatever is important to you, that are the real driving forces behind your motivation to stay on track.

That’s why it helps to spend five minutes each day focusing on what it is you want and imagining what it is like to have it in your life. Your mind is such a powerful tool that even just spending a few minutes daily picturing your desired outcome in your mind and making it as real as possible, tells your brain that it is real for you – right now.

That’s why people imagine themselves into all sorts of situations that they don’t really want – it’s because they think about something they are worried about or afraid of so many times, that eventually it becomes real. Why? Because that’s how the law of attraction works.

What we focus on the majority of the time is what we create in our lives. If you focus on what you want, as if you already have it, then even if you do nothing else you have at least starting building the belief of success in your sub-conscious mind. Surprisingly, when we do this, often times the ‘how’ seems to fall into place of it’s own accord.

So don’t get too stuck on ‘how’ you are going to get what you want, as we can’t always know what’s going to be coming our way to support us on our journey to success in our lives.

Final Thoughts on The Mindset For Success

For most people it’s the fear of failure that really robs them of the chance to be more successful in their lives. I know from my own experiences of failing that it was and always will be my failures that have given me my greatest successes in life.

At least while I am failing, I know that I am doing something productive, rather than sitting back wishing my life were different. I have failed in business, I have failed in relationships, I have failed in investing, I have failed in sport, I have failed in health, and so much more.

But as of right now I have a very successful business, a rich and rewarding life, am happier and healthier than I have ever been, and have deeper and more meaningful relationships than I ever dreamed possible – and all because I have taken my failures and used them as stepping stones to success.

“I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.” – Thomas A. Edison

Was this helpful? Know that if you don’t give up on your dreams and desires then they won’t give up on you. You can accomplish anything your set your mind to if you follow these three steps I have talked about in regards to developing a successful mindset.

Do you hunger for a better life? Perhaps your not happy with your work, a relationship, your finances, or even your health and fitness, and you want to take your life to the next level. Imagine waking up each day to a life that your more inspired by, more excited with, and you get to be more creative in how you live and even how you make money.

What we’re talking about here is success.

What does it take to be more successful and enjoy the life that you know you so richly desire and deserve to live? This question is one that got me thinking many years ago and is the reason why I now get paid to do what I love and wake up each day so grateful for the life I live.

But it wasn’t always this way.

I definitely struggled and failed my way to success both in business and in life. It certainly hasn’t always been easy living an entrepreneurial lifestyle especially at times like when I ran out of money, was in debt up to my eyeballs and was too proud to ask for any help.

I’ve had times where I’ve been really discouraged and felt like a total failure in business and in life as I struggled to even have enough money to eat. To compensate for that I tried working longer hours at getting my life back on track.

I went from working forty hours a week to fifty hours and still my results didn’t improve. Then I tried working eighty hours a week and still didn’t see any improvements in results. This really frustrated me as I had always believed that success was all about hard work only now I was finding out that it wasn’t.

At this point in my entrepreneurial journey I had never felt so hopeless and that I had no control over my future at all. Nothing that I did seemed to make any difference to my results or my bank balance.

The Hunger Begins

In the middle of what felt like one of the lowest moments in my life it suddenly dawned on me that if I kept doing what I was doing, that my results would probably stay the same. I knew I was a hard worker but that wasn’t getting me anywhere so I needed to figure out pretty quickly what else I could be doing.

Since that moment I felt an intense hunger for a better life burning like a fire in my belly. The first thing I realized I needed to do was get really clear on what I wanted as I’d been trying to make so many different things work in my life but I’d never really taken the time to get focused on doing just one thing properly. So I sat down with a pen and piece of paper and wrote down my life and business goals for the next three months.

What also helped turn things around for me was when I read a quote that said, “If you want to be successful at anything you need to hang around people who have already succeeded at what you want to do. So if you want to be a millionaire – then hang around Millionaires; If you want to be fit and healthy – then hang around with fit and healthy people; If you want to have great people skills – then hang around with people who have great people skills”.

It was then that I finally understood what was holding me back from success – it was me.

Once I got crystal clear about what I wanted then it became obvious that I also needed to shift my circle of influence and reach out to people who already had the success I was striving for so I could get out of my own way.

Since then, every single failure that I went through,or mistake I made, helped me to develop even more hunger and sharpened my perspective on what I needed to focus on to get where I wanted to be. They gave me the intelligence to make better decisions to help keep moving forward towards my goals and dreams.

5 Steps to Lifelong Success

Fast forward to today and I now have several successful online businesses and enjoy a lifestyle that revolves around doing what I like, when I like and where I like. I can work from anywhere in the world that has an internet connection and literally get to live the 4-hour work week.

The fact is that many people are still stuck in struggle and are stressed out in their everyday lives, just like I used to be. Some of them will make it through to the other side and some of them won’t, but one things for sure those that are hungry enough will be the one’s I’d put my money on.

Success never happens overnight and it is not a matter of dumb luck or any other such nonsense. Success happens to those that are ready for it, even if it looks like the odds are stacked up against them. It’s not measured by how rich, powerful or famous someone is. It’s measured by how good you get at picking yourself up off the ground, dusting yourself off and then continuing to march forward despite the obstacles that life put’s in your way.

One of the most powerful life lessons I have learned is that to thrive in business or in life you need to get really good at handling stress and pressure. The better you get at handling stress both internally and externally the stronger you’ll become mentally, physically and emotionally.

Those that don’t get good at it will always be in danger of either breaking down, or breaking apart, whereas people who learn to thrive under pressure will inevitably break through to success.

Here’s my top 5 steps to accelerate your success at whatever you want to excel at:

Write down your top ten reasons why you want to get out of struggle and become a success in whatever area of your personal or professional life you want to focus on.

Look at these reasons every day to continue to feed the hunger you have to succeed.

Identify you biggest weakness or roadblock to success.

Work on a plan to turn this into a strength or even better team up with others that are already strong in your area of weakness.

Develop a powerful morning routine to get you fired up for the day.

The Power of Morning Ritual’s

The purpose of a morning routine is to start your day feeling courage, confident, energized, yet calm and relaxed, with a clear mind that’s focused and ready to take on the world. This is also the best time to choose the most important activity for the day that will yield the biggest results for you and make sure you get it done.

Each morning, ask yourself what you are grateful for and what you are excited about for the day ahead as this would get your energy levels primed for the day ahead and also put your into a positive emotional state to start the day.

Give yourself time each morning to devote to yourself and starting the day from a place of balance and power. This can include things like meditation, stretching, or anything at all that helps clear your mind and feel good about yourself in the morning.

Ideally, you’d allow an hour to do this each morning and include some body movement along with a healthy breakfast. However, if the best you can do now is five minutes – then start with that and gradually build it up to an hour over time.

Implementing an hour of power each morning is one of the most worthwhile investments in yourself and your time that you can give to yourself. Instead of getting up each day and madly rushing around and being stressed out from the get-go, it helps to clear your mind, get really focused on what’s important and helps strengthen you against any stress that comes your way during the day.

Life really is for the fun of it, it’s not meant to be taken seriously. All too often we let our emotions overpower our reasoning and when this happens, even the smallest of problems that we’d normally shrug off with ease can seem overwhelming.

That’s why it’s so important to remember to never make a decision when you are in emotional turmoil and to only make all your decisions about your future based on intelligence that comes from a place of feeling calm and centered.

Above all remember to nourish your mind daily, nourish your body daily and nourish your spirit daily.

Now is The Best Time

The reason most people don’t succeed at anything that they want to is because they don’t tell themselves that NOW matters and they stuck stuck in the idea that ‘someday’ it’s all going to work out for them. It’s this mentality that keeps them stuck in struggle and kills their ambitions and dreams.

Tell yourself that now matters more than ever. Figure out what you want NOW, what your willing to do to make it happen NOW, and what you’re willing to give up NOW to get it. Not tomorrow, not next week, right NOW. What you do each day from today determines if you are going to be unstoppable or stuck in struggle.

If you manage your money correctly, you can do more with it, get more of it, and enjoy a better quality of life.

Here’s some of the simple things you can do to start taking control of your finances right now:

1. Set Goals. It’s important that you decide what is important to you—now, 5 years from now, and later. Set realistic goals that you are willing to work toward. If you’re in a relationship then make sure that both of you have the same vision of your financial goals. If you don’t, then war is surely on it’s way.

2. Understand the Difference Between Needs and Wants. It’s important that we first spend for needs. This means that money for the rent or mortgage and utilities is a must. Other needs are food and clothing.

Transportation is often a need in order to earn an income. Medical needs are important, too. People never get all the things they want, but unless they pay for needs first, they will usually have serious money problems.

3. Know What You Have to Spend. You can only spend what you take home. If more than one person in a family or household earns money, then you need to know the total amount of take-home pay. This is all you have available for needs, wants, and savings.

4. Know What Goes Out. The only way you’ll know where your money goes is to keep track of how it’s being spent. It’s easy if you start with a calendar and write in the large payments such as insurance.

Divide yearly expenses by 12 and quarterly expenses by 4 to get the average amount you need to set aside monthly.

List all payments and contributions you make once a month.

Estimate the cost of clothing, furnishings, etc., you bought and paid for last year. Divide by 12 to get a monthly estimate.

Keep track of what you actually spend for food, recreation, and other items for a week. Multiply this by 4 to get a monthly “guesstimate.”

5. Use a Spending Plan. A spending plan can help you get the things you need and want most. I have a budget that I live by which includes how much money I get to spend. If I want something outside that budget, then I need to figure out a way to get that money elsewhere. It’s actually really cool because it means I meed to get creative, which I enjoy.

6. Pay Yourself First. Ten percent of your take-home pay adds up to a sizable amount if it is put into savings and investments. Saving for emergencies such as accident, illness, or unemployment is a real need. Some experts recommend from 3 to 6 months’ take-home income for this. Setting aside money each payday can help you make periodic payments.

7. Use Credit to Your Advantage. The smaller your income the smaller the amount of debt you can afford. Ten to 15 percent of take-home pay going for installment debt (other than a home mortgage) is about all the average income family can afford.

Wise credit use means that you shop for the lowest cost you can find, that you make as large a down payment as possible, and that you pay back as soon as possible.

8. Keep Financial Records. Records can help you manage your money. They tell where your money goes and can help you decide what changes you’d like to make in your spending.

9. Automatically Invest a percentage of your income. Make sure that for every dollar you earn make sure that 5-15% of it is automatically diverted into a higher savings or investment account. This means that you will be less likely to spend it on ‘stuff’ that is not important and makes it hard to manage your money.

If you’re not sure how to go about this, just check with your local bank, or your accountant on the best way to get it setup. This way your money that automatically get placed in an investment account each time you get paid, starts working for you.

10. Increase Your Income. Did you know that your net worth will always be roughly equivalent to your level of self-worth? In other words, how much you trade your time for money is what your settling for in terms of what you believe you deserve to make.

The only difference between people that make $30 per hour and $100,000 per hour is the level of self-worth they have developed around their income. So when you expect more from yourself and start setting the bar in your financial life at higher levels, then financial altitude in life can soar higher and higher.

Far to many people focus on what they don’t have and what’s wrong with their financial lives instead of focusing on a solution to increase their income. I live by the adage that multiple streams of income are a necessary part of life. This means if one stream dries up (i.e. your job) then you are not left hanging out in the wind to dry.

While this may not be everyone’s cup of tea, it sure beats suffering the stress and pressure that comes when the only income stream you have disappears. The fact is that there are no certainties in life but we can put ourselves into the best possible situation so that we can weather any storms in more comfort.

So rather than just think about how you can optimize your one income stream, spend some time planning out what else you could be doing to leverage your time, money or skills to develop other income streams.

Most of all, true wealth comes from what you give. not what you get. As any successful entrepreneur knows, if you learn how to build more value in the marketplace for what you do, or what you offer, then that’s when the financial floodgates will open.
