If you’re like me it may feel like finding a purpose in life that you can really get your teeth into might feel like it’s taking forever.
It took me 10 years of doing jobs I hated before I literally stumbled onto what really lit me up on the inside.
In fact, I found it when I was going through my darkest night of the soul.
But it doesn’t have to take you that long as there is another way to find it.
The Japanese call it Ikigai.
Ikigai is a Japanese word that roughly translates to “reason for being”.
According to the Japanese, everyone has an ikigai a reason for living. And according to the residents of the Japanese village with the world’s longest-living people, finding it is the key to a happier and longer life.
The key to a long, happy life they say is to to stay active and work at what you enjoy. In the Western world we say, “follow your bliss” and when you look at the diagram you are going to find it in exactly the same place as the Japanese find their Ikigai.
MY wish for you in sharing this today is that this may help you to find your own ikigai and live a long, healthy, happy and prosperous life.
